Hello.

I am a general adult psychiatrist with a special interest in psychotherapy.
I work with people seeking help for mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, interpersonal challenges, and other life issues.

MY BACKGROUND

I grew up in Australia, and also lived in several other countries. I graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 2002 and completed psychiatric training in Chicago in 2007. I worked as a psychiatrist for 12 years in California before returning to Australia in 2019.I have pursued further specialised training in psychotherapy. I am currently engaged with the Melbourne Association of Psychodynamic Psychiatry (MAPP), Long Term Course.I was previously Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). I am now a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

MY APPROACH

My approach is to listen carefully to your story over time.I entail to uncover a biopsychosocial formulation for your presenting concerns. This is to say I consider medical, psychological, environmental, developmental, and familial factors that may underlie your symptoms.With your permission, I will liaise with other important people in your life such as your GP, family, and friends. If appropriate, I may recommend psychiatric medication or psychotherapy.
